Woman arrested on charges of Hit-and-Run
A 22 year old woman was held for driving under the influence. She allegedly drove her car into a man riding a scooter and didn't stop. She was arrested on Friday night in St. Petersburg.

The lady, Jessica J. Eddy, of 6424 Emerson Ave S, will now have to face charges for drunk driving and causing serious injuries to the man she hit into. It is alleged that she was driving on a suspended license.

Bruce W. Barber Jr., the victim she is accused of hitting, is from St. Petersburg. Barber was immediately rushed to the Bayfront Medical Center. His condition is critical but stable. The Police says that Eddy was driving a 1997 BMW east on Third Avenue South. The incident happened at 11:30 pm when she tried to navigate a right turn towards 64th Street South.

Unfortunately, she made the turn too wide and came into the lane where Barber was riding his scooter, which was in the northbound lane of 64th Street. According to the police, Barber tried to avoid the collision by trying to lay the scooter on one side.

As luck would have it, the man found himself along the curb. The scooter he was riding was stuck somewhere under the front side of Eddy's car. The police says that she did not stop and drove straight home.

Eventually, the police found her and the car. The scooter was found a short time later. The accused had to remain in the Pinellas Country Jail on Saturday. The bail was set for $22,500.
