DMV is one of bureaucractic department which was at one time known for its long lines . But now this DMV is putting itself in odd situations by not allowing Internet courses to be offered. While many offer online defensive driving courses , New York stood by a 1980 law which required in person training sessions which were taken by more than 650,000 persons.
Finally in 2005 the legislature gave DMV the permission to Internet based courses.
